Drinking alcohol causes destruction of muscle mass.
Unfortunately, it's true. While drinking alcohol reduces testosterone production in your body, loss of testosterone causes muscle atrophy. Since glycogen decreases as a result of drinking alcohol, physical fitness declines dramatically and, needless to say, decrease of muscles becomes significant.
Alcohol causes our body fatness.
The smaller stocks of testosterone in our bodies, the lower capacity for fat burning. Besides, alcohol has a high glycemic factor which means rapidly growing level of insulin released into the blood. The stock of insulin in the blood which is not burnt is consequently converted into fat.
Beer contains vitamin B.
While it is true to say that beer contains vitamin B, it does not seem to be a perfect source of this vitamin. In fact, beer itself inhibits secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) – the hormone which makes sure that we do not lose all valuable components ( vitamins, microelements) while passing urine. As a result, having drunk beer, we have a smaller amount of ADH in our body and more vitamins and microelements can be rinsed out of our body with the urine. |
