Do not eat your muscles!!!

What you need to eat after a workout to make your muscles grow and not waste your effort.

DSCF4051If you worked hard in the gym, your muscles are weak after intense exercise as previously accumulated energy is almost exhausted and the muscle fibers are damaged. At this very  moment you need carbohydrates and proteins, otherwise your body will  start using proteins from your muscles to secure  energy to your body.

You have only 30 minutes to do it, otherwise the training effort goes in vain

When to eat?

 

Within 30 minutes after leaving the gym you should eat your meal. It will stop the process of muscle breakdown, and renew energy reserves. To encourage regeneration of muscle fibers after exercise and, at the same time, accumulate a suitable amount of energy in the muscles, you have to eat a copious meal consisting of  protein, carbohydrate and fat in appropriate proportions.

What to eat?

First you need something that will provide fuel to your muscles, preferably in the form of fluid  as it is a kind food which is quickly digested  This can be either a home-made cocktail or ready for use one available in a shop. Your next meal should contain fatty acids Omega-3 and Omega-6; you need them to raise the level of hormones needed for proper growth of muscles and, by the way, they adjust your metabolism.
